Of Time and the Forest

Out here,

Life is long

Time moves slowly

Her resulting changes

nearly imperceptible

Out here,

There’s nothing to distract me

From her passage

I see it everywhere

In the River’s song

A Leaf’s graceful dance

The Sun’s journey across

The Valley’s ridge

She’s all around me

And she’s not scary

I’m only scared

When I miss her
