Soul Walk
by Irena Nayfeld
Can it be possible that all my walks are soul walks?
Can it be true that I move from nothing but soul?
No “shoulds”, no clocks, no obligations
I am on a permanent soulwalk
Where my soulfeet lead, I go
Where my souleyes glance, my body follows
Where my soularms reach is where my soulheart belongs
No this way, that way, should have, could have, maybe
I am always soulwalking, so I am never wrong
What else are mornings for if not for soulwalks
What else to do but chase the morning sun
And when you miss its grand rising over the river
What else to do but let go and give gratitude you’ve come
A whispered thank you to the sun that never truly leaves us
A heart-felt promise to the forest to return
A silent prayer for the Mother Earth to keep on spinning
An ancient reverence for this planet we call home
